We will discuss in detail your design goals, priorities, and ideas. How you live and use the current space, your style preferences, what works and does not work. This helps me understand how the space needs to look and function to meet your needs.
A measurement appointment would be scheduled. Photos and detailed measurements of your existing space will be made. Using these measurements and the information gathered from my initial design consultation, I begin exploring design options.
I will develop one or more preliminary design plans. These illustrate not only the function and design of the space, but also preliminary finishes based on your initial input. My 3D images make the plans come alive with accurate representation of your space. See examples below.
We will have the design concept meeting to review the concept plans, discuss the options, reexamine the initial ideas and goals making sure the features important to you, have not been left out. Your chosen contractor is often brought in at this time.
When a final design is agreed upon, I will provide you with highly detailed construction documents and pertinent specifications on finishes and fixtures that may have been selected. You and your contractor will have a set of plans for bidding and construction.
I remain available during construction to answer any questions that you or your contractor may have. Often, a meeting will be scheduled at this point, to select any fixtures and finishes that remain to be chosen- flooring, countertops, backsplash, tile for showers or flooring, cabinet finish and door styles, and paint colors.
